Our 9th annual Memorial Holiday group hike. What started as the perfect way to kick off Memorial Day weekend (Friday evening hike) ... has become a RCKN tradition. Best way to celebrate the 'unofficial start' to summer adventures.
{ note ... this year it's 1 week later because of scheduling }

UPDATES: Watch for updates on this hike (weather, etc) on the Facebook events page.

BLODGETT OVERLOOK TRAIL:
The trek is 1.7 miles each way (3.4 miles RT). There is a noticeable elevation change in the first quarter mile and then it levels out. Just enough to get your heart pounding. Be prepared to cross a few, small, run off streams.

Our stopping point offers a fabulous vista of Blodgett Canyon looking west as the evening sun sinks deeper. And looking east over the Bitterroot Valley. The perfect spot for sunset picnic. Relax and dust off the weeks fluff.

LOCATION:
* Blodgett Overlook Trail. Just west of Hamilton, MT. (not Blodgett Canyon Trail - 2 different parking lots/trailheads)
* Meet at trailhead parking lot.
* Check USFS links for trail details and driving directions.
* Everyone hikes together as a group. Enjoying the trail beauty and sisterhood community together.

BRING:
- Backpack with safety items. Including a head lamp.
- Extra layer of clothing. Possible rain poncho.
- Bear spray.
- Ticks and mosquitos are going to be out.
- Binoculars to look for Mountain Goats on canyon walls.
- Bring your snacks, supper, and beverage for picnic. Optional to bring a snack to share with everyone ... because it's fun to try new things.
